Traditional Uses:
Ripe fruits can be eaten along with the crunchy seeds. The fruits are rich in anthocyanins that color the tongue purple violet. Anthocyanins are also known to have anticancer properties. The seeds are nutritious and have a nutty flavour.
The fruits can also be used to make a wonderful herbal tea. The anthocyanins and other pigments present in the fruit give pleasant color to the tea.
