Medicinal Uses: Antibacterial, Antioxidant, Antiproliferative, Analgesic, Anti-inflammatory, Antidiabetic, Anxiolytic (Anti-anxiety), Helps control bedwetting in children, Antidiarrheal, Antitumor and Wound healing.
Traditional uses:
Paste of the leaves mixed with oil is applied an an ointment to facilitate wound healing. This paste can also be used for burns, skin inflammation, itching and eczema
A decoction of the leaves or leaves added to herbal tea can help relieve arthritic and rheumatic joint pains. A glass of this herbal tea before bedtime would also have anxiolytic effects and could help with sleeplessness caused due to anxiety.
The paste of the inflorescence fried in ghee helps in alleviating cough.
A decoction of the leaves of Leonotis with the leaf of Heliotropiium indicum helps control bedwetting.
