Parts used: Flowers, leaves, Seeds, Bark, Gum/Resin.

Usage in Traditional Medicine:

1. The stalks of flowers are eaten or used in making chutney. They are rich in Vitamin C and a host of other antioxidants and phytochemicals.

2. A juice made with the flowers is very good for Diabetics. It is also a wonderful remedy to help address inflammatory disorders.

3. An oil prepared with the flowers is used to treat arthritic and rheumatic inflictions.

4. A herbal tea prepared with the flowers and leaves helps address flatulence, digestive disorders, helps expel worms from the digestive tract and is also beneficial for gynecological disorders. This tea can also be used as an enema to help clear the colon of pathogenic microbes.

5. A decoction of the leaves helps address joint pains and swelling.

6. The seeds are used to protect against infections and hasten the healing of wounds.

7. The exudate from the bark of the tree i.e. resin is used as a tablet binder.
